Forgetting Sarah MarshallThe Forbidden Kingdom88 Minutes

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Trailer - Starring Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Russell Brand, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd
TV actress Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) breaks up with her long time boyfriend Peter (Jason Segel) when she finally makes it big. To help get over the recent breakup, Peter decides to take a relaxing vacation but guess who’s there with their new significant other? No, it’s not Barney Stinson or Ted Mosby, it’s the lovely Sarah Marshall.
This is another Apatow production so I think we’re all expecting big laughs. So far the film has an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been receiving good reviews pretty much everywhere else. I always enjoyed Kristen Bell in Veronica Mars so I’m really looking forward to what she can do in a comedy. If you’re looking for a laugh this weekend, this should you’re best bet.

The Forbidden Kingdom - Trailer - Starring Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Michael Angarano
An American teenager finds the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. But as soon as he has it in his hands, he is transported back to ancient China to help a group of warriors free the imprisoned Monkey King.
This is the first cinematic adventure where Jackie Chan and Jet Li will meet face to face, but disappointingly it looks like they will be fighting side-by-side for most of the film. I was looking forward to a one-on-one battle of these two great martial artists, so I guess I’ll have to keep waiting.  Even though this has choreography from the famous Yuen Woo-Ping (he worked on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the Kill Bill series and the Matrix films) the film looks a little too family friendly. I’m not yet sure which demographic this film is targeted at so I think I’ll wait for some more reviews before I check it out.

88 Minutes - Trailer - Starring Al Pacino, Benjamin McKenzie, Leelee Sobieski
Al Pacino stars as Dr. Jack Gramm, a college professor and forensic psychiatrist for the FBI. He receives a mysterious death threat that claims he only has 88 minutes to live. Now he must figure out who is out to kill him before time runs out.
Al Pacino usually puts out pretty decent movies, but I think we all recognize Benjamin McKenzie’s (aka Ryan from the OC) inability to pull off a thriller. And as fellow blogger Mike’s post points out, this film is bad, everyone is giving this movie bad reviews and not just bad but horrible. I think we should all avoid this movie until it releases on DVD.

Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden? - Trailer - Starring Morgan Spurlock
If you don’t know already, Morgan Spurlock is the guy that brought us Super Size Me and the TV series 30 Days. Now Morgan is setting out to find the infamous Osama bin Laden. I don’t want to disapoint you, but if he did find Osama, we would have heard about it already but luckily the film is more than just the search. Suprlock tours around the Middle East in his search and discusses the war on terror with Arabic people along the way.
This should be a very interesting and different look into the effect of the “war on terror” on the people who live in the “warzone”. As with all documentaries, I’d suggest awaiting the DVD. And since this is a limited release, you may be forced to.

Limited Releases:
Pathology, The Life Before Her Eyes, Zombie Strippers

What I Plan on Seeing this Weekend

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - I love all the Apatow films along with How I Met Your Mother and Veronica Mars so this is like a dream come true. I’m looking forward to some good laughs and an all around good time.

What do you plan on buying tickets for this weekend?
