Tucker Max to Hit the Big Screen
Tucker Max, the man behind TuckerMax.com and the stories it contains, will be adapting his New York Times Bestselling book I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell(currently #12 after three years on the list) onto the big screen. The film will follow his trip to a friend’s bachelor party, where he ensnares the groom in a lie that threatens the wedding, and then abandons him to pursue further carnal knowledge. After being banned from the nuptials, Max attempts to get back into his friend’s good graces.
Tucker Max’s site was one of my favorites a few years ago. I love his stories and the terminology or analogies he uses within them. I also bought I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell when it first came out and read through it (although it contains a lot of the same stories as the site) quickly. Unfortunately, I gave it to a friend to borrow (he needed some inspiration after a breakup) and the bastard kept it. I think the transition from the pages of the book onto the big screen will be a pretty seamless one. His stories contain the right amount of antics and side stories to work well enough as a comedy, so I’m pretty pumped to check this out.
The movie starts shooting on June 2nd in Louisiana.
Have any of you ever checked out his site and/or book? For those of you who have, what do you think of it and it’s possible transition to the big screen?
