Extra Suspenseful Trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening

With all the hype surrounding almost every other big summer release, it’s easy to see how M. Night Shyamalan’s latest film, The Happening, has been getting skipped over. Sure it’s not Iron Man or The Dark Knight, but for the most part Mr. Shyamalan can still put together a story (and even throw himself into the cast!).

This Shyamalandian (write that down) film stars Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel as a couple who are “on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity.” While the first trailer made a little buzz when it dropped, I think this will definitely help the film as it heads closer to its June 13th release.

I’m not always a huge fan of Shyamalan’s work (I did like Lady in the Water which was verbally beaten up by almost everyone I’ve ever talked to), but I’m actually pretty interested in this. While it does bare some resemblance to a body snatchers-esque movie, Shyamalan’s unique ability to weave a creative story (and surprise ending) should provide capable of preventing it from being a useless clone.
