The Promotion Trailer

I often reminisce of the workplace comedy that Office Space brought to everyone when it released.  It fit the office drone vibe perfectly and if you were familiar with that type of work, you connected with it instantly.  Well, it seems as if we’re about to get another workplace comedy that hopes to do the same.  The Promotion, which stars Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly, concentrates on two men and their attempted rise to the head manager position for Donaldson’s Grocery.  From all the reviews I’ve read from when the film was screened at SXSW, it’s a great film and has a good story to go along with all its funny parts.  Also, If you really focus on the picture above (and I mean the Patch Adams focusing where you’re looking past something, not at it), you’ll see a heart shape created by Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly.

After reading the reviews and watching the trailer, I’m actually pretty excited for this.  While I’m not a huge John C. Reilly fan (Walk Hard annoyed me do to me disliking musical biopics), I think there appears to be quite a lot of chemistry between him and Scott.  I’m hoping this turns out to be another great film that the “working man” can connect with and later on quote nonstop.  The film is set to release on June 6th, so get your grocery cart pushing self ready for a heart-filled laugh fest.

Are you interested in seeing this film? How did you feel about the trailer?

Oscar-nominated actor, John C. Reilly (”Chicago,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”) and Seann William Scott (”American Pie”) lend their deft comedic touch to the story of two mid-level Chicago supermarket employees: Doug and Richard, a dubious new guy from Canada - who compete ruthlessly for a coveted managerial post at a new store location. Doug and Richard could not be more different, but going head-to-head in a contest of wits and will reveals how they have more in common than they once suspected. The duo battle toward a hilarious final showdown that will leave you guessing until the very end. The film is the directorial debut of Steve Conrad, the writer of the “The Pursuit of Happyness.”
