Postal is Not Coming to Theaters Any Time Soon

Uwe Boll is a great director. He’s brilliant in everything he touches. And while he has attempted to remake many video game franchises into movies, he’s directing way better stuff than the “hack Michael Bay”. Or at least that’s what he’d like you to believe. Although, with all his genius, he’s never made profit off of any of his films.
Yesterday, it was announced that theaters across the country were dr
opping Boll’s most recent release Postal. The film, which was originally set to be released in 1,500 theaters, is now being released in only FOUR theaters. Boll was even supposedly (as claimed by him) denied the possibility of renting the theaters himself to play the movie on it. The film was set to release on May 22nd (the same day as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)
Boll states that theaters are boycotting his film due to its political content and that “any multiplex in the U.S. should have space for us, but they’re afraid.” While they probably are afraid of playing this film, I doubt it’s so much the content and more than likely it’s that no one will come see it.
I’m sure Boll is right and we’re all just missing his genius in all his work. For now, I’m assuming the theaters smartened up and read my This Summer’s Most Sucktacular Movies list, which had Postal in the numero uno slot.
So, do you think he’s being conspired against? Were you ever wanting to see Postal? Is he a genius and we’re all just missing it?
