Video: First Twilight Clip

Last night at the MTV Movie Awards (do people still watch this even?), they premiered the first clip for the film Twilight.  Considering this is somehow a teen sensation, I figured I’d give this a posting.  Although, the clip looks like it was taken straight from a tv show.  Hooray for vampires flying on strings.  Let me know what you think of the video below.

You can see a HD version of the clip at MTV.

Doesn't look promising at all. Reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
  • Buffy was in incredibly successful TV show with a huge cult following. Joss Whedon is the second coming to some. You could do a lot worse than to have a movie that mimics that program. However, from what I've heard from fans of the Twilight novels, this looks accurate. I think the teens are going to be pleased and I'm just happy with a new vampire film. I'm also 29 years old and download the MTV Movie awards every year (I live in Australia and do not have cable TV). It's a lot more fun than the other awards shows I enjoy. All positive from me I'm afraid! :)

Jen, you make a good point. I guess I should of been been a little more specific in what I meant when saying it looked like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Buffy was good for a TV show, but the trailer for Twilight looks a lot like a tv show, and it worries me on how well the film will play out. A lot of the action sequences in the trailer look really god awful, I will try and read the book but after I watch the film. I think watching the film before the book lets me try and have a more accurate opinion of if the film was good or not, if I read the book, I know the characters and the story and could understand it well enough to give it my recommendation when in reality it could be really confusing. I most likely will be renting this.
