Poster: The Saw Series Adds Another Gruesome Teaser Poster

In what has become an annual event for the Saw franchise, we’ve got our first teaser poster for Saw V (that’s five for those who don’t speak Roman numeral). This film (along with the sixth one) was greenlit before the release of the fourth film even occured, so they apparently aren’t even waiting to see how their following holds up as they struggle for twists in each incarnation of the series. I know I was bored supremely by the last installment, so for me to tell you that I was eagerly anticipating this would be the same as me telling you I couldn’t wait for an enema. Ouch.

This poster features someone wearing Jigsaw’s facial skin. I don’t need to brew up a batch of Ole Ma’s Downhome Perception Powder to figure out what they’re trying to say here. And I cheated and read the plot. Essentially, Hoffman will be taking over as the new Jigsaw and will be “on the hunt in order to protect the secret that he is the newest person to carry on Jigsaw’s legacy.” How thrilling. For those worried about Old Raspy not being around, he’s still listed in the credits so I’m assuming they’ll put together a mishmash of cut scenes and old footage from the previous films to pull some twist out of the ass and leave you going “WTF?” Let me know what you think of the poster below.

This time around we’ll see David Hackl directing the film followed by Saw IV writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan returning to help out. It’s slated to hit theaters right around Halloween (as it does every year), this year on Ocotober 24th.
