The Dark Knight - Trailer - Starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman
Christian Bale is back as Batman in this highly anticipated sequel, infact so many people want to see this that if you don’t already have tickets for this weekend, there’s a good chance you might not get in, especially if you want to catch it in IMAX. And for those you have no contact with the outside world and this is your first day using the internet, this was Heath Ledger’s last film before his tragic death. Basically the plot of this film is the classic Batman vs Joker, but with two great actors and an amazing script. People are already calling Ledger’s performance oscar worthy and by far the best villian ever portrayed on film, and that’s very easy to believe even after just watching a trailer. I don’t think I have to say much else about this film because I know you are going to see this, or you may even have already seen it during the midnight screenings. If you want to see the biggest film this year, than you have to watch this one. Don’t forget that the director purposly shot certain scenes in this film for IMAX so if you have an IMAX near you be sure to get tickets for that showing. And for those seeing the film in a regular theater, you will be treated to the first trailers for Terminator Salvation and The Watchmen. So what are you waiting for, go see it already.
Mamma Mia! - Trailer - Starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried
So if for some reason The Dark Knight isn’t for you or you really love ABBA, then you might want to check out this film. The film is based on the musical of the same name which was based on popular ABBA songs. A young woman name Sophie is about to marry her boyfriend at her mother’s hotel on a Greek island. She is about to have everything to have her complete life, except for a father. What she really want’s at her wedding is to be given away by her father, but she doesn’t know who it is. When she finds her mother’s diary she finds out that there were three men in her mother’s life that could have been her father. Sophie invites all three men to the hotel in order to figure out who her father is before the wedding. There will be a lot of singing, and a lot of ABBA, so if you’re going to see this, please let you boyfriend/husband see Dark Knight instead or at the very least give him the option of ear plugs.
Space Chimps - Trailer - Starring Andy Samberg, Cheryl Hines, Patrick Warburton, Jeff Daniels
When a NASA probe disapears into a wormhole, the space agency recruits the grandson of the first monkey in space to rescue the ship. Along their journey the space chimps stumble upon a planet of peaceful inhabitants that is ruled by an evil dictator, now the chimps must rescue the inhabitants before they return to Earth. If you have children and believe that they are too young for Dark Knight, and don’t want to traumatize them with Mamma Mia! then you might want to check this one out.
My Ticket Purchases:
The Dark Knight - Ever since we saw the Joker card at the end of Batman Begins, I’ve been waiting for this film to come out. By the time you have read this, I’ll be in the theater for the midnight showing and probably enjoying every minute. I’ll also be catching this on IMAX when the shows stop being sold out.
How many times do you plan on watching Dark Knight? Are you even going to bother with any other movies this week?
Coming up next week:
Step Brothers, The X-Files: I Want to Believe
