Veteran Actor Morgan Freeman Airlifted from Car Crash
TMZ is reporting that veteran actor Morgan Freeman, who most recently graced theaters in The Dark Knight, was potentially seriously injured last night in a car accident. Due to the severity of the accident, Morgan had to be airlifted from the scene and taken to a local hospital. It is currently believed that he fell asleep at the wheel.
The actor was driving on Highway 32 in Tallahatchie County when he apparently lost control, flipping his car several times.
One source tells TMZ that Freeman has broken several ribs and injured his knee. His female passenger, we’re told, had to be cut out of the car using the Jaws of Life. A source says she’s suffering from bumps and bruises, but is in “all in all in good condition.”
If the rumors are true that he’s only broken a couple of bones, then it’s much better news than him being airlifted from the scene. Freeman’s acting talents have landed him in quite a few solid movies including Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption (which is currently ranked as the second best movie on IMDb’s top 250) and more recently Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (ranked as #1 on IMDb’s list). The acting legend also has such a great and distinguishable voice that it’s often lent to films to serve as the narration. Hopefully at 71, a few broken bones are nothing too serious for him.
