It’s official, Ellen and Portia tie the knot

Emmy award winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres (50) has tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Portia de Rossi (35) in Beverly Hills, California. The two have been an item since December 2004.

The ceremony was held on Saturday evening with about 30 guests in attendance comprised of family and friends, including both of their mothers. The nuptials took place at the $29 million dollar estate owned by DeGeneres.

California has gone back and forth on the issue of gay marriage, with the last round of unions being declared unconstitutional. DeGeneres was eager to wed de Rossi after the California courts voted to overturn their stance on gay marriage, once again, and approve the unions.

Let’s hope that California votes to keep the law in effect. In my opinion, this union is meant to be. Now let’s all celebrate by a congratulatory dance over our coffee tables.
