Trailer: New Max Payne Trailer Making People Rethink Game Crossovers

To those who weren’t already aware that a movie was coming out based of the Max Payne video game franchise, there’s a movie coming out based off the Max Payne franchise. Now you can’t say I haven’t ever told you anything. But, seriously, Max Payne is a legitimate, non-Uwe Boll, video game adaption starring Mark Wahlberg. Not only has it been stirring up a lot of interest because of its cast, but lately Wahlberg went on record as saying that Payne is much tougher than Bruce Wayne and other comic book characters. While I don’t know about that, I do remember him as being a badass from the game itself.
Regardless of all of the above (which somehow turned into a terribly unplanned self discussion), we’ve stumbled on a new theatrical trailer for the film. Watching it, it seemed to have a lot of the great things we’ve seen in films lately whether it be bullet time, over stylization or even a hard rock title track by Marilyn Manson (similar to the Smashing Pumpkin’s song on the Watchmen’s latest trailer). In fact, I really, really liked the trailer and am seeing myself getting more into this film as its release date approaches (October 17th). Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.
Max Payne is set to release on October 17th. It’s being directed by Flight of the Phoenix and Behind Enemy Lines director John Moore. Writing credits on the film go out to Sam Lake and Shawn Ryan. Starring with Wahlberg are Ludacris, Mila Kunis and Chris O’Donnell. Check out IHM’s page on the film to keep up with all the latest updates.
