Zack and Miri Make An Acceptable U.S. Poster

In our post the other day containing the red band trailer for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, we mentioned that the poster included in the post was banned in U.S. due to the MPAA saying it was too offensive for the general publice. Well, Kevin Smith and Co. have decided to shoot back with a brand new and fully acceptable poster. If you don’t sense the sarcasm seething through this one, you’re somehow void of any senses.

I love what this film is doing. As I mentioned before, not only is getting rave reviews, but it is pushing the envelope for what is acceptable for an R-rated film here in the U.S. While the banned poster (which we found out wasn’t all that offensive) is being allowed in Canada, the MPAA decided it would be too vulgar for us. This kind of illogical decision by the MPAA is often critiqued and if you’re in the mood for more on the topic I suggest checking out This Film is Not Yet Rated. I love that Kevin Smith and this poster is basically giving a big “F-U” to the MPAA with the most bland poster possible. What do you think about this all?

Zack and Miri Make a Porno is slated to release October 31st. The film was written and directed by the infamous Kevin Smith, who, if you’re somehow not already aware, created gems like Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Mallrats. Starring alongside of Seth Rogen are Elizabeth Banks, Jason Mewes and a bunch of the usual people from Smith’s other movies.
