Trailer: David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

IGN has posted the trailer for the newest David Fincher film titled The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The film stars Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button, a man who ages in reverse. As he grows older biologically, his physical body appears younger. The film is based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story of the same title. Cate Blanchett stars as Daisy who becomes Benjamin’s girlfriend towards the end of his life.

While there have been tons of things going around about fights between Fincher and the studio about the run time of this film, this trailer looks great. I’m really impressed by it and it has that feel (similar to Big Fish) that just grabs a hold of you and makes you want to watch it throughout. Everything I’ve seen so far for this has been really well done, so I’m hoping these stories of fights and problems don’t transcend into any problems for the film. It’s definitely a high-up on my “mustsee” list.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is directed by David Fincher (Se7en, Zodiac, Panic Room). It’s being written by seasoned vet Eric Roth (Ali, Forrest Gump). Starring alongside of Pitt and Blanchett are Tilda Swinton and Elle Fanning (Dakota’s little sister). The film is slated to release on Christmas day.
