Trailer: Leonardo DiCaprio in Revolutionary Road

If you thought the pairing of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet was perfection in Titanic then, your dream team is back together for a film called Revolutionary Road. The two star as a problematic couple during the mid-1950s in the Conneticut suburbs. Of course, the last time these two starred opposite of each other they went on to create all box office records known to mankind (even the fabled highest grossing film ever that The Dark Knight has still yet to break). Personally, I think it looks a little bland, but with Sam Mendes as the captain of this ship, I’m still holding out for some hope. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Set in 1955, the plot focuses on the hopes and aspirations of Frank and April Wheeler, self-assured Connecticut suburbanites who see themselves as very different from their neighbors in the Revolutionary Hill Estates. April is an aspiring actress who yearns to move to Paris, while Frank copes with toiling away at a corporate job he despises by drinking too heavily and engaging in an affair with a co-worker. The couple’s marriage slowly dissolves into an endless cycle of bitter arguments and jealous recriminations.
Revolutionary Road is directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Jarhead). The screenplay was adapted from the Richard Yates novel (of the same title) by Justin Haythe. If you’re interested in the film, you’ll have to hope it is playing near you as it is only currently getting a limited release that begins on December 26th.
