News: Kung Fu Panda 2 Sets Release Date to June 3rd, 2011

Consider this as the one time I was completely wrong about everything. I mean, I really missed this one. See, last spring, I picked out the biggest summer flops based on how well I thought the movie would do. And somehow my mystic mind missed out on how good Kung Fu Panda would turn out to be. I notched it down quite a few pegs saying that it woudln’t be anything because it was animated and wasn’t made by Pixar. Well, I was wrong. Here, I’m saying it. Little did I know that when I actually saw it, I’d really enjoy the movie and so would everyone else that saw it.
In fact, everyone enjoyed it so much that DreamWorks Animation has planned a sequel for the film. You’ve probably heard the rumors about it being released prior to now, but now we actually have something carved in stone. We have a release date. Thanks to /Film, we’ve got word that DreamWorks Animation has chosen June 3rd, 2011. If that wasn’t good enough news for everyone that enjoyed it, but so far a lot of the original cast has signed back on including Jack Black and Angelina Jolie. The original screenwriters, Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, have even returned to work on the sequel. Maybe someone will actually start attempting to give Pixar a run for their money. I’d like to predict that they’ll never get close to Pixar, but I’d hate to be wrong twice…
What do you think about a second Kung Fu Panda? Did you enjoy the first?
