Deals: Pre-Order The Dark Knight

Even though it doesn’t come out until December 9th, you can get in line for your copy of all the formats of The Dark Knight DVDs from Amazon.  We’ve actually given quite a few rundowns on what will be included in the different DVD choices on here before, so if you’re going to grab a copy, make sure you read through those posts. We’ve got some of the deals listed after the jump.

If you’re one of those that grab it from Amazon, you’ll get a deal on the actual price for whatever format you choose.  They’re marking the Blu-ray copy at $24.99 (suggest retail: $36) and the two-disc collector’s edition at $22.99 (suggested retail: $35).  Both of those come with the digital copy so that you can transfer them to your iPod or portable device of your choosing.  The widescreen and fullscreen copies are also available for pre-order now, but do not come with the digital copy of the film.  You can grab either of those for $16.99 (suggest retail: $29), so you’ll still be saving some cash if you’re not looking for the collector’s edition or Blu-ray copy.

As I mentioned before, the digital copy is kind of a cool option for those who want more ownership of their movies as they’re able to not only have them on DVD, but put them on personal media devices and carry those with you.  Something to think about if you own one.

Don’t forget to checkout our previous coverage on the DVDs and the release specs in our previous posts:

The follow-up to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves effective, but soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker, who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante. Heath Ledger stars as archvillain The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart plays Dent. Maggie Gyllenhaal joins the cast as Rachel Dawes. Returning from Batman Begins are Gary Oldman as Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.
