If you care anything about the franchise, you’re betting a few bars of gold-pressed Latinum on whether Star Trek will be totally awesome or a complete disaster when it hits theatres on Stardate 5.8.2009.

Despite that, production stills from the newest J.J. Abrams installment have hit the web from Entertainment Weekly, MTV, and IGN.

What do you think? The next Wrath of Khan?  The next…Nemesis? Maybe a nice Voyage Home middle ground?

    I wonder how Chekov is going to tackle the words "Nuclear Vessels."
  • As curious as I am about the "wessels", I'm a little more curious about how they're even going to shoehorn Chekov in, considering he wasn't on the bridge crew until somewhere between Mudd's Women and Space Seed in the original series.
