After the events of “Ice Age: The Meltdown”, life begins to change for Manny and his friends: Scrat is still on the hunt to hold onto his beloved acorn, while finding a possible romance in a female sabre-toothed squirrel named Scratte. Manny and Ellie, having since become an item, are expecting a baby, which leaves Manny anxious to ensure that everything is perfect for when his baby arrives. Diego is fed up with being treated like a house-cat and ponders the notion that he is becoming too laid-back. Sid begins to wish for a family of his own, and so steals some dinosaur eggs which leads to Sid ending up in a strange underground world where his herd must rescue him, while dodging dinosaurs and facing danger left and right, and meeting up with a one-eyed weasel known as Buck who hunts dinosaurs intently.

Egyptologist Daniel Jackson is brought to an underground military base where he decodes the symbols on Egyptian cover stones as star constellations. That allows a alien device known as the Stargate to be opened and a team led by Air Force Colonel Jack’ O’ Neil and Jackson to travel across the known universe to a distant planet. Arriving on the planet, they find a culture ruled by someone pretending to be the Egyptian sun god Ra. Soon, Ra captures the team and takes control of a nuclear weapon brought to the planet in case of the discovery of hostile aliens. Jackson and O’Neil escape and must fight Ra and his army of warriors to save Earth from being destroyed by Ra.

The Unrated Blogger’s Cut

There isn’t a whole lot releasing this week so the selection is a little limited.  Even though I have enjoyed the Ice Age series, I won’t be rushing out to rent the new film.  I’ll see the film eventually, just whenever I’m bored and have some free time.  But what I will be picking up is Battlestar Galactica: The Plan.  I am a huge BSG fan and I have been waiting forever for this new movie.

  • Oohh I love the Ice Age series! I recently saw the new animation movie from Disney and Pixar called Up or something. I really recommend it to everyone!
