The Hangover – Trailer

After a night of alcohol, gambling, and partying, Alan, Stu, and Phil awake the next morning not remembering the events of the prior night. Unable to find Doug, the groomsmen encounter a variety of problems as they retrace their steps in order to find him.

My Life in Ruins – Trailer

Georgia (Nia Vardalos) is a Greek American tour guide who is leading a tour around Greece with an assorted group of misfit tourists who would rather buy a T-shirt than learn about history and culture. In a clash of personalities and cultures, everything seems to go wrong, until one day when older traveller Irv Gordon (Richard Dreyfuss), shows her how to have fun, and to take a good look at the last person she would ever expect to find love with: her Greek bus driver (Alexis Georgoulis).

Well, if you saw the trailers for any of these films then you would already know what film I will be seeing this weekend.  Of course it’s The Hangover, that movie looks crazy delicious.  I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be this summers hit comedy.  And even though I love Will Ferrell and Danny McBride (Kenny Powers FTW), I’ll probably just end up renting Land of the Lost.

Up – Trailer

Carl Fredricksen (Edward Asner) is a retired 78-year-old balloon seller. When Carl was a child, he met and eventually married a girl named Ellie who grew up in a small midwestern town. Ellie always dreamed of visiting South America, but they grew old together, and she died of unknown causes before she got a chance. Now, when developers threaten to move him into an assisted living home, Carl decides to fulfill his promise to Ellie. To accomplish this, he uses 10,000 balloons to make the house fly—but unwittingly takes a chubby eight-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell with him. The two opposites match up for thrilling adventures as they encounter wild terrain, unexpected foes, and all the terrifying creatures that wait in the Venezuelan jungle.  Don’t forget that this film is also available in Disney Digital 3D.

Drag Me to Hell – Trailer

Sam Raimi is back to his horror roots in this hellish endeavour.  A loan officer ordered to evict an old woman from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse, which turns her life into a living hell. Desperate, she turns to a seer to try and save her soul, while evil forces work to push her to a breaking point.

I will definitely be seeing Up,(in 3D of course) because who doesn’t love Pixar?  I mean, when have they ever done anything but poor awesomeness? And I love Sam Raimi, from Evil Dead to Spider-Man, this man has talent (even though Spider-Man 3 was a let down).  Thankfully he heads back to his horror roots in Drag Me to Hell.  Too bad I’ll be waiting to pick this one up DVD to watch so I can hide my head under the covers when the scary parts come on.

Terminator Salvation – Trailer (Opens May 21st)

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian – Trailer (Opens May 22nd)

When the Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, the museum pieces are moved into federal storage at the Smithsonian Institution, which comes to life. The museum houses the world’s largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) flew on her non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone’s (Jon Bernthal) rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy’s ruby slippers, Fonzie’s jacket from Happy Days, the still from M*A*S*H and Archie Bunker’s lounge chair from All in the Family. When the museum pieces from the first film are attacked by Kahmunrah, an evil Pharaoh, Larry (Ben Stiller) breaks into the Smithsonian to save the old exhibits from New York (Such as Theodore Roosevelt and Dexter) from new exhibits (like General Custer, Napoleon Bonaparte, Al Capone, and even Darth Vader). Larry enlists the help of Amelia Earhart, whom he develops a romantic interest in, and together they try to put everything back in order.

Dance Flick – Trailer (Opens May 22nd)

A rich, suburban girl named Megan White (Shoshana Bush) gets into a series of misadventures when she moves to the inner-city.  Street-smart Thomas (Damon Wayans Jr.) helps her along the way.

Angels & Demons – Trailer

Unfortunately, for those who have read the book, this film is no longer a prequel, they chose to turn it into a sequel and to take more liberties with its adaptation.  As if enough liberties weren’t already taken when they made the The Da Vinci Code film.  Hopefully this one will turn out better than the last.  And at least this time Tom Hank’s hair looks not so terrible.

Star Trek – Trailer

A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members.  You will get to see all of your favorite characters in their very first mission, including Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Uhura, Scotty, Sulu, and Chekov.  The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto), was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before!

So now that you know you are going to go see this film you just have to decided “To IMAX or not to IMAX”.  And even though I’ll always suggest to hit up your local IMAX, you must keep in mind that this film has no IMAX footage and will just be enlarged for the IMAX screen, but should be amazing none the less.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine – Trailer
Starring Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Ryan Reynolds
Following Wolverine’s origins as he grows up a mutant and soon enrolls in the Weapon X program.  This film is set before all of the other X-Men films and gives the audience a lot of back story about Wolverine’s beginnings.  The film probably won’t have the most amazing plot but it will definitely be filled with a lot of action and those amazing Adamantium claws.  You know you want to see this, so head out and go see it already.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past – Trailer
Starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, Emma Stone, Noureen DeWulf, Breckin Meyer, Lacey Chabert
A womanizer (Matthew McConaughey) is haunted by the ghosts of his former girlfriends at his younger brother’s (Breckin Meyer) wedding. The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (Emma Stone), Present (Noureen DeWulf), and Future (Amanda Walsh) take him on a journey through his romantic history (à la Ebenezer Scrooge) to help him come to a realization about his ways with women and as well as what he lost with the one woman he was previously intimate and passionately with since childhood.

Crank: High Voltage – Trailer

Picking up immediately after he hits the ground at the end of Crank, Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) is kidnapped by a gang of Chinese medics. On an operating table, they attempt to harvest his organs. But after they remove his heart and replace it with an electronic temporary one, Chev wakes up and kills the medics. He then has to chase after the gang who have stolen his heart. At the same time, he must keep shocking himself with regular jolts of electricity to keep himself alive.

State of Play – Trailer

During a probe into a series of seemingly unrelated murders, Cal McAffrey (Crowe), an investigative journalist and Collins’ former campaign manager, finds himself tasked with solving the case, becoming romantically involved with the Congressman’s estranged wife (Wright Penn) in the process.

Crank was stupid fun time and I’m hoping of more of the same from Crank: High Voltage.  The trailers for State of Play haven’t really caught my attention so I’ll probably skip that one until I hear that it’s a must see.  And being a twenty something male, Zac Efron does not interest me so I guess I’ll be skipping 17 Again.

Driven to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution of this crime will earn a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive dream girl Brandi, the hot make-up counter clerk who won’t give him the time of day. But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison of the Conway Police, and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do.

When the dismayed Miley asks if her career as Hannah Montana is over, Robby says to ask again in two weeks’ time.

Dragonball Evolution – Trailer

The story begins with Goku, who seeks out upon his adoptive grandfather Grandpa Gohan’s dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls. Of which he has one, in order to prevent the evil Lord Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world. And Goku’s quest is to obtain the mystical Dragonballs before Piccolo does.
