We just received the final theatrical poster for Mike Judge’s upcoming film Extract.  While the film has had quite a few character posters released over the past few weeks, this one finally brings all the characters together.  From first glance, the poster tells exactly what you need to know about the film and showcases all of it’s potential strong points in one glance.  I mean, at minimum you’ve got to see it for Mila Kunis and Kristen Wiig alone.  But if that doesn’t get your motor going, there’s always Jason Bateman, J.K. Simmons, Ben Affleck and David Koechner for laughs.  Check out the full sized poster after the jump.82526_06v1

Joel, the owner of an Extract plant, tries to contend with myriad personal and professional problems, such as his potentially unfaithful wife and employees who want to take advantage of him.

Extract is the newest film from the comedy master Mike Judge (Office Space, Idiocracy) who both penned and directed the film.  It showcases stars like Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis, Kristen Wiig, J.K. Simmons and Ben Affleck.  It’s set to hit theaters via a limited release on September 4th.

Posters: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/11/21/poster-the-curious-case-of-benjamin-button/ http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/11/21/poster-the-curious-case-of-benjamin-button/#comments Sat, 22 Nov 2008 00:03:26 +0000 mike http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/?p=2493

With The Curious Case of Benjamin Button coming out in just over a month, I was quite confused as to why we hadn’t seen a poster before now (though we have gotten numerous trailer options).  Luckily, Paramount has finally decided to release the official posters for the film.  The posters are based around the two leads (shocking, I know), but actually fit the movie well.

The nice touch on it all though, is the backwards lettering throughout Brad Pitt’s poster (as he’s growing in reverse) in contrast to Cate Blanchett’s which features all forward text.  And while everyone’s criticizing them for being weak posters, I actually like them and think they fit well to the theme.  To each his own I guess.  Catch the two posters after the jump and let me know what you think about them (but please write your comments forward, I hate having to read through a mirror).

Poster: Judd Apatow’s Funny People http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/11/14/poster-judd-apatows-funny-people/ http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/11/14/poster-judd-apatows-funny-people/#comments Fri, 14 Nov 2008 04:08:51 +0000 mike http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/?p=2420

Judd Apatow.  Adam Sandler.  Seth Rogen.  All huge names in comedy and all are coming together for a new movie called Funny People.  And even though the film doesn’t release until July of next year, we’ve got the first teaser poster for the film.  Of course, it’s not like they really had to do anything special for this poster, being that it’s for a Apatow movie.  If you’ve the posters for The 40 Year Old Virgin or Knocked Up, you’re familiar with what I like to dub the Apatow poster.  The Apatow poster features the star (or stars) standing in front of a colored background.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Essentially Apatow’s poster guy has about as easy a job as a backup QB.  He’s just there to go through the motions.  Make sure you catch the full poster after the jump and let me know what you think of it and my posterology.

When seasoned comedian George Simmons learns of his terminal, inoperable health condition, his desire to form a genuine friendship cause him to take a relatively green performer under his wing as his opening act.

Discuss: What do you think of the poster?  Do you want to be Apatow’s poster guy?

Funny People is being written and directed by super comedy director Judd Apatow previously of films like The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up (not to mention having his hands in Superbad, Pineapple Express and many others).  The film stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and Leslie Mann.  It’s slated to release on July 31st, 2009.

Sweet New Poster for The Spirit http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/16/sweet-new-poster-for-the-spirit/ http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/16/sweet-new-poster-for-the-spirit/#comments Thu, 16 Oct 2008 18:27:30 +0000 Trevor http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/?p=2076

A sweet new poster released for The Spirit and it looks pretty damn nice.  And if you remove the lettering it’s almost art worthy.  And while I was checking out the new poster I found another one that looks pretty sweet and would do very well in you’re average college dorm so I attached it to the bottom.

What does everyone think of the new posters?

Poster: Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler in The Ugly Truth http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/15/poster-katherine-heigl-and-gerard-butler-in-the-ugly-truth/ http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/15/poster-katherine-heigl-and-gerard-butler-in-the-ugly-truth/#comments Wed, 15 Oct 2008 04:15:19 +0000 mike http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/?p=2036

Being a male I’m supposed to raise up in anger at how we’re represented in the first poster for The Ugly Truth, but alas, I’m still laughing too hard to object.  I mean, clearly for all guys but me, I’m sure there is a lot of truth to this poster and maybe no one should be offended.  No matter how you feel though, it’s still worth a chuckle.  The film stars Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler, so that’s kind of a mash-up of an action man and rom-com girl.  Laugh at the poster after the jump.

A romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.

The Ugly Truth is set to hit theaters on April 3rd, 2009.

A brand new poster for Pixar’s next big film, Up, has hit the web.  The poster features the old man’s house floating high up in the sky thanks to a massive bundle of balloons.  While this is just a teaser poster, it definitely does a good job of setting the theme for the film.  Hopefully we’ll be getting a teaser trailer soon to help get everyone pumped for another Pixar smash.  The film is set to float into theaters on May 29th, 2009.  Check out the full poster after the jump.

Poster: Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman in Australia http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/11/poster-nicole-kidman-and-hugh-jackman-in-australia/ http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/11/poster-nicole-kidman-and-hugh-jackman-in-australia/#comments Sun, 12 Oct 2008 03:28:55 +0000 mike http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/?p=1932

Australia is supposed to be one of those classic love stories that mixes just the right amount of emotion in with some action and adventure.  It also probably won’t hurt it that is stars Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman.  Check out the new poster for the film after the jump.

A romantic action-adventure set in northern Australia prior to World War II, AUSTRALIA centers on an English aristocrat (Kidman) who inherits a ranch the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle driver (Jackman) to drive 2000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country’s most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier. With his new film, Luhrmann is painting on a vast canvas, creating a cinematic experience that brings together romance, drama, adventure and spectacle.

Poster: Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/09/poster-adam-sandler-in-bedtime-stories/ http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/2008/10/09/poster-adam-sandler-in-bedtime-stories/#comments Thu, 09 Oct 2008 15:42:12 +0000 mike http://movieblog.iheartmovies.com/?p=1809

Even though Adam Sandler and Disney’s newest project Bedtime Stories should be considered a child’s affair, I keep finding myself drawn to it.  Maybe it’s the inner child or maybe it’s just the need to want to see Sandler be funny again.  Who knows.  Regardless, the film has released a brand spanking new poster that actually fits the theme of the film quite well.  It’s not some boring poster, but actually shows what you can expect going into the film.  Even if you mock me, I have to say I’m a fan.  Check out the full poster after the jump.

Bedtime Stories is being put together by director Adam Shankman (Hairspray, A Walk to Remember, The Pacifier, Cheaper by the Dozen 2) and relative newbie writer Matt Lopez.  It is set to hit theaters on December 25th.

Because today is such a slow news day, I’m dubbing it poster day and I’m sure you guys would just love to see some more of the latest and greatest theatrical art work available to us.  This time we’ll even be pulling them from a little bit of a range of movies, jumping from a chick flick to a imported Korean horror film.  I like to think they’re related because guys attempt to take girls to both in order to get close to them later on.  Oh stop giving me that look and pretending you haven’t done it.  Pah-leeze.  Check out the posters for Bride Wars and The Uninvited after the jump and be sure to tell me how much you thoroughly enjoyed poster day.

Bride Wars
Starring: Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson

Two best friends become rivals when they schedule their respective weddings on the same day.

The Uninvited
Starring: Elizabeth Banks, David Strathairn

Anna Rydell returns home to her sister (and best friend) Alex after a stint in a mental hospital, though her recovery is jeopardized thanks to her cruel stepmother, aloof father, and the presence of a ghost in their home.

Even though I’ve mocked almost everything to do with Punisher: War Zone, I’m really enjoying the new poster that has debuted today.  Sure, to me, Ray Stevenson isn’t all that great as Frank Castle, but this poster definitely shows the side of Punisher I’d like to see.  The bulleted framing definitely adds a nice touch to it as well.  Catch the full poster after the jump.
